Help Bobby Jaramillo fight cancer
Donation protected
My dear brother in law Bobby Jaramillo was recently and unexpectedly diagnosed with colon cancer after having been healthy basically all of his life. A month ago he thought he had food poisoning, but it went longer than he thought was normal, so he went to the ER - and had to be admitted to the hospital for what turned out to be a major bowel obstruction. More than 4 weeks, major surgery and many procedures later, he is still hospitalized, including time in ICU due to complications. He is recovering from the surgery and associated complications, and we hope to have him discharged in the near future, but the follow-up rehab care and chemotherapy still face him.
This unexpected event is life changing on so many levels - emotionally, physically and financially. Unfortunately, Bobby and Regi were not in a financial position to maintain health insurance for the last few years, and Bobby’s Medicare won’t kick in until the end of September. This hospital stay alone will be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Bobby and my sister Regina, are the most loving and amazingly generous people I know. Over the years they have supported many friends and family financially and emotionally through personal challenges. They have always opened their home to anyone who needed one, and have been available emotionally to those in need. Over their entire careers, they have both committed to mentoring junior co-workers and encouraging their success - many have advanced or found better jobs because of them. Many of you have been recipients of their great generosity.
If you can, please donate what you can to help Bobby and Regi in their time of need. Anything we can do to lessen their burden will go a long way to getting them back on track.
Thank you, Annette (Regi’s sister)
P.S. - Please also share this with your network (eg, Facebook, Twitter, next door, others).
