Hi, my name is Bobbie, and I’m reaching out for help during one of the most challenging times of my life. For the last couple of years, I have experienced a variety of health issues. As a single parent, I've struggled greatly due to spending weeks to months in the hospital. The most substantial of my health issues is gastroparesis. If you aren't familiar with this, it means that part of my digestive system is paralyzed. My body is unable to digest food properly, and I am completely unable to eat by mouth. I currently have a feeding tube for nutrition, but this has not stopped the debilitating nausea and vomiting I experience on a daily basis. I miss work frequently due to these symptoms, and my social life has become almost nonexistent. I struggle to be there for my son and have missed several important moments in his life due to being hospitalized.

There is no known cure for gastroparesis, and treatments can only manage the symptoms. For me, medication has minimally controlled the nausea and vomiting. I'm now working with Mayo Clinic to explore alternative measures to decrease symptoms and improve my quality of life. Mayo hosts a three-week-long intensive program that makes symptoms more manageable and helps participants get their lives back. This is what my doctor has recommended, and this program could make a huge difference in my life.

My medical insurance will cover the hospital fees for this program, but in order to attend, I have to be housed in a hotel near the area for the entire three weeks. Additionally, I must miss work for those three weeks. This is why I'm asking for your help. All money donated will go toward housing and covering the bills I wouldn't otherwise be able to pay while attending the program.
