Bobbie Zerbe and Kat Lockwitch are mother and daughter, and they lived in Crystal River, Florida, during Hurricane Helene. Bobbie is elderly and has fragile health. Kat is a senior and fully disabled.

We lost almost everything during this hurricane, but it wasn’t our first. We lost most of the furniture and appliances a year ago during Hurricane Idelia. All the flooring and lower walls had to be redone. We were able to salvage some of the antique furniture that we stored in a storage building on the property.

A few months ago, we were spared by Debbie.

This hurricane, we lost all the new appliances and furniture, as well as the antique furniture that was salvaged from Hurricane Idelia. The hardest hit is the loss of the house, which currently sits unlivable. Some personal items and clothing were salvaged. We lost quite a large amount of food that was in the new refrigerators and the new freezer. We lost electronics, sewing equipment, computers, Kat’s paints, and painting and hobby supplies.

Some days it seems hard to look forward instead of focusing on the damage and loss. We will survive and go forward. With a bit of help, we can put a down payment on a new place to live and be able to furnish it.

Bobbie has spent several decades helping others. Kat is medically retired and spent many years as a firefighter/EMT. This time we are asking for help.
