Help Bobbi Heal from Heart Failure and Sepsis

Bobbi was first admitted to the ICU after struggling to breathe. At first, the doctors thought she had pneumonia. They treated the infection in her lungs, but further testing revealed that her heart was working much harder than it should be. She was diagnosed with acute heart failure, and her heart is currently functioning at just 35%.

The antibiotics she was given to treat the infection ended up putting a serious strain on her kidneys, bringing her close to kidney failure. After a short time at home, Bobbi was readmitted to the hospital when a UTI progressed into sepsis. She had to stay for another four days.

She’s home now and continuing treatment with IV antibiotics for the next two weeks, but her recovery is far from over. Bobbi needs to take at least three months off work so her heart and body can heal. This time will also allow her to work closely with her doctors to figure out what’s causing these ongoing health issues.
