6 months ago, my husband Bob had his second and completely unexpected (emergency) back surgery, due to a (thankfully benign) tumor growing on his bone, right above where he had his last fusion in 2018. 

This procedure was significantly more challenging than the first one, with a new (and as far as we can tell through the research) not commonly used pprcedure for ensuring the giant wounds on his back would heal.  While the procedure is pretty cool, and the exterior wounds have healed, we had no idea that Bob would not be able to do most anything for nearly a year. No lifting, no fitness, and definitely no being able to move bodies in his physical therapy job. 

The whole process has left Bob in a deep depression, with medical bills, and on long-term leave from work, and the loss of his income. He is most likely going to have to transition to a new career, which isn't so easy after 50. 

We've basically exhausted our savings. We're in a lease until August, and at that time will probably move to a less expensive home, despite how much we love living in our neighborhood and being so close to my mom (5 blocks!). 

If we can get over the hump and make the February rent of $2600, we should have a tax return and long-term disability to rely upon to make it through the spring and summer.  Can you help? 

I know everyone says this, but I didn't think it would be *US* asking for help. But here we are. I can't pretend like everything is normal any longer. We need to pay the rent by the first to avoid losing our place, so we appreciate your support.
