Help Bob the Cat Recover from Diabetic Crisis

I have a wonderful, sweet, 5-year-old cat named Bob (because she has no tail), and Bob was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus early this year. Diabetes can be challenging to manage in cats, especially for a first-time pet parent of a special needs animal. Unfortunately, Bob has developed diabetic ketoacidosis, a severe complication that requires hospitalization.

Up until her diagnosis in January of diabetes, Bob was a very healthy cat with no medical conditions. Due to the lack of proper insulin management, which I take full responsibility for, she developed ketoacidosis and has a UTI and pancreatitis (very common with diabetes). She has been in the hospital since Friday night, May 9th, and it looks like she will need to stay there for a few more days; it is common for cats to stay 3-7 days in the hospital with this condition. The emergency vet is great; they are giving me updates daily, allowing visits, giving her 24-hour care, and making sure she is comfortable. Bob has made good progress in getting better but has plateaued in the last day (again, very common). She has a very good chance of recovery and needs a few more days at the vet, but the bills are getting high and I don’t think I can fund much more. I would much rather stay for a few more days and have her be at a point where all the vets, her regular and emergency, and myself feel comfortable with her coming home to continue to recover.

Funds will be going towards vet bills that cover her stay in the hospital where she is receiving quality 24-care from a great staff, medicine, fluids, and insulin.  She has already stayed for 3 days, and is looking like she needs 2-3 more days.
