My Dad passed away on 2-2-24, after an almost 5 yr battle with pancreatic cancer! If you knew him, you know he was a warrior and an inspiration to so many! He gave it one hell of a fight and never gave up, constantly defying the odds! His spirit will live on through all of us who had the pleasure of knowing him! His determination, will power, strength, faith & refusal to quit were an inspiration and source of strength for our family & all who knew him and/or followed his story/ fight! He didn’t want to leave us and fought so hard to stay here with us! My Mom & Dad met in driver’s ED @ McKean HS when they were 15, got married at 20. They celebrated 45 yrs of marriage on 8/26/23! I want to thank everyone who has so generously supported our family through prayer, love, donations, meals & all the things I can’t even think of right now! My Dad was never financially rich, but he was a helper here on earth! He was rich in love, kindness & friends…he was a Jack of most trades (lol) and if he didn’t know how to fix it, he had a friend who could! He was always going to help someone…my whole life! I started this gofundme to help my parent’s with medical bills and expenses, originally! I updated it to medical & funeral expenses! My Dad was very clear that if we burned him, he would haunt us! If you knew him, you can laugh, but you wouldn’t dare test him…LOL He always knew how to make you laugh! Bob would have given a stranger the shirt off his back, he was the person that would stop and help you on the side of the road, the one everyone could call if they needed anything! He was humble and kind and would never ask for anything! So, when I set this up and he saw how many of you came to help in his time of need, his heart was full!

Please help me alleviate some of the financial stress off my mom, from almost 5yrs of fighting cancer. My Mom continued to work at Beebe Hospital through my Dad’s whole journey! She is the hardest working woman I know & my source of strength!

I wish this story had a different ending and this was not our reality! My heart is broken and life will never be the same! However, I will carry my Dad’s strength, determination, love & giving spirit with me for the rest of my time here on earth! Sending love, light, prayers and strength to all who need it!

Hi everyone, I am fundraising to help my Dad, Bob Salvatore & my Mom, Darlene Salvatore with the overwhelming expenses associated with Bob’s courageous battle with pancreatic Cancer over the past 4 years.
Bob was diagnosed with stage 2 pancreatic cancer in July 2019 at the age of 60. He had the tail of his pancreas, his spleen & 18 lymph nodes removed and spent a week or so at John’s Hopkin’s in Baltimore recovering and learning to walk again. He then went on to have chemotherapy that almost killed him, bc it was too strong for his body. Once he healed from that, he started a new type of chemo and was in remission for a little bit. He went back to work at Wawa for a short period of time before
The cancer returned and he started chemo & radiation. He went in to have more chemo and just finished 5 days of radiation on 12/28/23. We are currently at Jefferson hospital in Philly! My mom has continued to work at Beebe hospital full time. I have done my best to help with appts, bills and general care so they still have one income. My parent’s would never ask for help! They have always been hard workers! My Dad even went back to work at Wawa after his cancer was in remission, but was forced to go on disability again bc the cancer metastasized to his lungs and back. Bob will tell you he is not a quitter! Don’t you dare mention hospice or he will let you know he is not quitting! My Dad is truly the strongest man I know! He would give you the shirt off his back, if you needed it!
Any funds raised will be used to go towards medical bills, expenses related to traveling for hospital & doctor tx and helping my mom pay the bills, as she is going to need to take some time off with his current state. My parents have been together since they were 15 when they met in driver’s Ed and celebrated 45 yrs of marriage in 8/26/23!
Please help me relieve some of the financial burden off Bob & Darlene, so they can focus on healing, strength and being together in the days ahead! Any donations would be greatly appreciated by our family! Please continue to keep my Dad, Mom and family in your prayers!
