Help Bob Recover and Rebuild After Devastating House Fire
Donation protected

On Tuesday January 21st Bob Winfield lost his house and all of his belongings to a horrible fire. He was home when the fire started and attempted to put it out himself. When he realized he couldn't get it out, he went barefoot over to the neighbors to seek help. The fire department came out and was unable to get the fire out. Bob was taken by ambulance to the hospital for severe smoke inhalation. The fire department had to bring in a backhoe to bulldoze the house into the basement to control the fire and keep it from spreading to other structures. Bob was transported to Iowa City hospitals where he was sedated and placed on a ventilator for 2 days to treat the smoke inhalation. The house repeatedly reignited until the fire department was finally able to stop the burning on Friday January 24th. Bob was released from the hospital late Thursday evening, and his children are caring for him as he recovers.
Bob lost everything in the fire, he only left with the clothes on his back, which were disposed of by the hospital. He has no clothes, no wallet or documents, no keys for his car. He will need to replace everything on top of paying his medical bills, debris cleanup at the property and rebuilding.
Bob is in good spirits and already has plans and isn't asking for help from anyone, which if you know Bob you know his personality is alive and well. We appreciate any help that anyone can give as we help Bob through this tragic loss. If you cannot donate please share to those that maybe able to. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support the community has provided. Sincerely Bob's children: Julie, Melissa, Steve, David, and Moriah.
