Help Bob Kydd Recover from the Elk Fire
Donation protected
On Sunday, August 3rd, our dear neighbor and friend Bob Kydd, 87 years young, lost his home in the Elk Fire. While we are so grateful he is safe, the fire took everything. His home, his belongings, and all of his possessions gathered over a lifetime of which he didn't have any coverage.
If you spent time at Sleepy Cat back in the day, you might remember Bob as “the scone man,” quietly working behind the scenes to make sure those fresh, warm scones were ready for everyone. He was also there in 1991 that the old Sleepy Cat Lodge exploded and caught fire, now, unbelievably, he’s survived two major fires in his lifetime. At 87, Bob has always lived a more private life, but those who know him know his empathy runs deep, making it all the more heartbreaking that he’s lost everything.
Funds from this campaign will go directly toward helping Bob secure temporary housing, replace essential items, cleaning up what is left behind and begin the long process of creating something that feels like home.
No amount is too small, every donation makes a difference, and every share helps spread the word. If we can come together to show him his community stands behind him during this difficult time it would mean the world.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity, kindness, and prayers for Bob.
