My brother is a kind, loving and generous person. In his spare time he enjoyed hiking and biking with his girlfriend of many years Kerri and his brother Mark. Bob and Kerri had just moved into a new home together with her two young children. They were over the moon to finally be taking this step and to start living the rest of their lives together.
After three major brain/head surgeries this accident has left Bob with extreme left sided weakness (his dominant side) as well as difficultly swallowing which requires him to have a feeding tube at this time. He is currently in a physical rehabilitation facility in Boston, MA. His team of doctors and therapists are very optimistic that Bob can make significant progress with extensive in and out patient therapy. These therapies will include physical therapy to gain back the strength on his left side and allow him to walk and hike again unassisted. He will need occupational therapy to gain back his fine motor skills such as buttoning his own shirt. Speech and language will be working on his ability to swallow more than just yogurt. Might I add he is dying for a burger!!
I am asking for this money because Bob is currently not being paid in anyway due to an investigation into how and why this happened and the best course of action to take. His insurance company has stated that Bob has exhausted all of his benefits and they will no longer pay for in or out patient therapy after this next week. Without these therapies Bob simply will not be able to gain back what he has lost. As a mother, nurse and a sister there is no doubt in my mind that Bob can do this given the opportunity. He has every reason to work hard and stay motivated. He has a new home with a loving girlfriend to get back to, a job that he loves and a loving extended family that want their son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend back home where he belongs.
Please find it in your heart to share what you can, no donation is too large or small. And please share this with anyone you may think would be interested in this cause. On behalf of Bob he thanks you with all his heart!!
