Help Bob and Marie replace items lost in a fire
Donation protected
My very excellent youngest cousin Bob, and my 94 year old grandmother, Marie Doherty, suffered a catastrophic house fire last night (2/25). Great news, they're as ok as people can be after a devastating loss like this--everybody survived. Bob smelled something burning and went to investigate, found a fire spreading, and got my grandmother--who was awake at 2am, thank goodness--out of the house. But the propane tanks in the garage exploded, destroying both of their cars. Bob's apartment over the garage is totally gone, and so is everything in the house my grandmother has lived in for decades. The firefighters were able to save the main structure of the house, but not Bob's living space and not any of their belongings.
They have to replace *everything.* Clothes, shoes, technology, toiletries, medication, food, books, furniture, housewares, everything. Insurance will cover some of the costs of repairing the house. In the meantime they're crashing with the neighbors with the clothes on their backs, and the cat, and a long list of tasks to complete to start that process.
Can you help them out? This will go to Bob to start paying for things they need right now. Thank you for helping these beloveds get back on their feet!
