On July 8, 2024, my brother-in-law, Bob, and Butters, their corgi, were attacked by a neighbor’s pit bull. The pit bull jumped over their fence to attack Butters, but Bob picked her up to protect her. The pit bull then bit Bob’s arm which caused him to drop Butters. The dog continued to attack Bob, and Butters then went after the pit bull to save Bob. Both Butters and Bob required emergency medical services, but the owners are trying to avoid responsibility. After initially lying to authorities that the dog was moved to Arizona, local animal control was able to get the vicious dog into quarantine. Unfortunately, this has taken a financial toll on them, and I am hoping to raise some funds to help them pay for medical bills while they attempt to recover physically and mentally from the trauma they endured. As of the time I write this, both are in a lot of pain but are slowly recovering.
My sister, Shannon, and Bob moved to Gallup from Wisconsin when she took a job working as a renal dietitian on a Zuni Reservation. Together they have three Corgis and two cats. Shannon and Bob spend their free time and limited financial resources rescuing stray dogs and cats in the area. They are animal lovers and dream
of one day having their own animal rescue.
