Hi everyone,My name is Boaz Ngwomoya, a medical student from Uganda with a deep passion for building a career in Research medicine . My dream is to dedicate my career to advanced research in molecular biology; a field where breakthrough science directly transforms human health and medicine.
This past August, I took a massive step towards that dream. While I was at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz,Germany,I explored everything about Research medicine. Walking through the campus in Mainz, I knew without a doubt that JGU is where I belong for my future program (Molecular Biology)
I am currently in the process of applying to join the molecular biology program at JGU next year. However, before I can step back onto campus as a full-time student, I face a mandatory financial hurdle: securing the official German visa requirements.
To obtain a student visa, international applicants must demonstrate complete financial proof, which includes funding a German blocked account (Sperrkonto), mandatory health insurance, semester contributions, airfare, and initial arrival fees which my family and I can’t afford.
Because visa applications require these funds to be verified well in advance of enrollment, I am starting this campaign early to build the bridge that will get me there. My goal is to raise €15,000 to cover these non-negotiable relocation and administrative costs.
Every single contribution no matter the size directly removes a financial barrier between my current studies and my future in molecular biology. If you are unable to donate, sharing this campaign with your family, friends, or academic networks means the world to me. You’re not only supporting my education but also contributing to the future transformations in human medicine research.
Thank you for believing in my potential and for helping me turn this ambition into a reality.
For transparency:
This fundraiser is organized by me, Temidayo Raheem, from Germany, because Uganda is currently not a supported country for GoFundMe payouts. The funds raised will therefore initially be paid out to my German bank account. I will then transfer the funds received to the intended beneficiary, Boaz,in Uganda.
All funds received and transferred will be documented to ensure transparency throughout the process.
