On March 14, 2026, at 6:41 pm, our baby boy Bo Lucion Alejandro Turner came into our world after 57 hours of labor. From the very beginning, Bo faced health challenges. He had fluid in his lungs and needed to be checked by the NICU, but we hoped everything would be okay. After a couple of days in the hospital, Bo was able to come home, but his pediatrician noticed signs of jaundice and sent him back for treatment. While being treated for jaundice, Bo’s breathing was up and down, and it didn’t seem normal. The doctors put him on oxygen and ordered a CT scan, which revealed signs of bleeding and fluid around his brain.
Bo was transferred by ambulance to Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, where he has been for over a week. The doctors have been working around the clock to come up with a plan and a procedure to make Bo healthy. Today, Bo finally came out of surgery! It’s been a long waiting game, but we got the news that the surgery went well. The doctors installed a shunt to help the fluid travel around and performed a lavage to break up and drain the blood that was causing the fluid to stay in his head. Bo is awake and alert, and now we wait to see what the next steps will be. We are hopeful this will be the only procedure he needs.
God is good, and we are so grateful for everyone who has reached out and kept our little boy in their thoughts and prayers. He needed this strength today, as did we. There is already so much love for Bo, and we can feel it. We are asking for support from our community to help cover medical bills, travel expenses, and ongoing medical costs as Bo continues his treatment and recovery. Any help means the world to us during this difficult time. Bo is fighting for his life right now. Thank you for reading Bo’s story and for considering a donation to help our family.
