Hi, my name is Evelyn Coombs and I'm raising money to help Bly Young and his Family whose house was destroyed by a mudslide this March 15. Bly is a dear friend of my husband's, with Bly having been a big part of my husband's life since childhood. Bly is an 80-year-old man who lost his wife of 60 years, Wanda, a few years back. His health had started deteriorating, a couple of years ago he suffered a stroke, and could no longer live alone. He was living in a hospice for some time and was recently brought home in Humboldt County by his only daughter Teresa and husband to spend the rest of his life surrounded by family and friends in his family home. Bly, Teresa and her husband are hard-working middle-class people with limited resources.

This Go-Fund-Me Project is raising funds with two objectives in mind. The first is to do an engineering evaluation to see if there is any possibility of rebuilding on the same site. If not, Bly will have to look for another place to live, having lost his greatest and only asset. The second objective is to raise funds towards the downpayment on a mobile or manufactured home.

For all of their lives, Bly and Wanda have been strong supporters of the Garberville community and this is the right time for the community and everybody else whose this story touches their hearts to help the one in need. Today for you tomorrow for me.
