Blueberry came into our lives under unusual circumstances. He and his siblings were abandoned on my uncle’s doorstep, and I had been dreaming of having a cat for years. Despite allergies in my family, we knew we had to bring him home. We named him Blueberry because of his crystal-blue eyes he had as a kitten and his sweet, funny personality. From the very first day, he has been a joyful, loving presence in our home.

Recently, Blueberry was attacked and came home with a large section of skin missing from his tail. At first, we hoped that wound care and antibiotics would be enough, but our veterinarian delivered heartbreaking news: his tail is too damaged to save and must be amputated. This is an emergency, and acting quickly is the only way to prevent infection and give him a chance to heal.

Our financial situation has been difficult. This unexpected surgery is more than we can manage alone.
