Blueberry is my 15-year-old cat who has been through so much in his life. He’s battled diabetes, asthma, FIV+, herpes, allergies, and even had a tumor removed from his back. Recently, he’s been struggling with a breathing issue that just won’t go away. Despite three rounds of antibiotics and antiviral medication for his herpes, nothing has helped. We’ve done bloodwork and X-rays, but everything came back normal. Now, our vet has referred us to a specialist for a CT scan to see if a nasal polyp is causing his breathing problems.
I’m on disability and have a house full of senior furbabies, all with their own medical needs. One of my other cats recently went blind from high blood pressure and has kidney disease, which means ongoing medication and specialty food. My two diabetic pets also require special diets. I always put their needs before my own, but the costs have added up and I simply can’t afford the CT scan and further care that Blueberry desperately needs.
I’m usually the one helping others, but this time I’m the one who needs help. Blueberry means the world to me, and I want to do everything I can to help him breathe easier and feel better.
