One day while walking to Walmart, I came across a stray cat who looked like he was in rough shape—his tongue was hanging out, he was drooling, breathing heavily, and his fur looked dry and just in rough shape. I rushed inside to grab a carrier, hoping to catch him. When I came back out, I ran into my (now friend) Joanne—turns out she’d also been trying to catch him for months. She and a few other kind people have been feeding him and trying to rescue him, but we think he’s been trapped before, so he’s very cautious. They’ve been calling him Blue.

We’ve been feeding him daily and sneaking meds into his food, which has helped a lot more than expected, but we knew the only real way to help him was to get him to a vet.

Good news—on the night of July 13, one of the women helping was finally able to catch him!

He was taken to the vet the next day (July 14), and we learned that he has severe periodontal disease and likely a respiratory infection. His initial vet bill is $1,224, and it’s expected to rise as he continues treatment.

I decided to help even more by starting this GoFundMe & we are asking for help to cover his medical care so Blue can finally heal and, hopefully, find a loving forever home.
