Our beautiful daughter Blue has been struck by a devastating and life-threatening infection that spread rapidly through her body — invading her heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, spleen, and most painfully, her sacral bones, where she now has multiple abscesses.

Thanks to the skill and care of her medical team, Blue was brought back from the very edge. But this is only the beginning of a long road to recovery. The infection has not yet fully cleared, and the abscesses in her bones still pose serious risks — they could rupture, resist antibiotics, or cause permanent bone damage. Even simple things like walking or caring for herself again will take time, therapy, and great effort.

Blue is expected to remain in the hospital for at least six weeks, with the possibility of a transfer to a rehabilitation or nursing facility afterward.

What makes this even more difficult is that she’s hospitalized in another state, far from home. As her family, we are doing everything we can to stay by her side, to support her emotionally and practically every step of the way.

We’re raising funds to help with:

• Travel and transportation costs for family to be with her

• Lost wages due to missed work during her extended hospital stay

• A few comfort items — like a handheld Nintendo Switch, books, and art/craft supplies to keep her mentally and emotionally engaged while her body fights to heal
