Hi, my name is Ashley, and I’m fundraising to help with surgery costs for my sister’s kitty, Blue Cheese (“Blue” for short).
Blue had a condition called Entropion. To prevent irreversible damage to his eyes, he needed corrective surgery on both of his lower eyelids. That surgery, plus exam fees and medication, cost $1700.
If you have the means to donate or share, we would really appreciate it! Thank you
More About Blue
Blue is a loving, 1.5 year old orange boy. He’s the biggest cuddler and loves giving kisses. He and his brother Hamlet were adopted as kittens in 2024 from a wildlife rescue in Brunswick County and have been inseparable ever since.
My sister works so hard to provide a good life for them, but recently fell on hard times. She’s not one to ask for handouts or help, but I couldn’t ignore their situation.
Blue has been struggling with bloody eye discharge and discomfort for over a year, causing him to constantly squint or keep his eyes closed.
After several expensive examinations and tests, he was finally diagnosed with Entropion at the end of September 2025.
Entropion is an eversion of an eyelid margin (rolling in of the eyelids), resulting in trichiasis (hair rubbing against the cornea). If left untreated, it can cause issues such as persistent conjunctivitis, corneal scarring and impaired vision, or blindness.
Thanks to the incredible staff at Animal Eye Care in Wilmington, he underwent surgery (Hotz-Celsus blepharoplasty and eyelid shortening) to treat the Entropion. We’re so grateful that the surgery went well. Blue is now seeing the world like he’s never seen before! Right now, he’s stable and energetic, which is a great sign for recovery.
We are extremely thankful for you taking the time to read Blue’s story and for your support! Please donate or share if you can. Thank you
