Thank you for visiting our GoFundMe page for Blu, our beloved 9-year-old Miniature Pinscher! Blu has been an integral member of our family ever since our dog Penny brought her into the world in 2016 as the runt of a 3-pup litter.

Recently, Blu has been suffering from a severely luxated patella (grade 4), which means that her right hind knee has come out of its socket and requires an expensive surgery to correct. While this procedure comes at a high cost, her veterinarian is confident that she will be able to make a full recovery so that she can run and play again.

The cost of the surgery itself is estimated to be $6000-8000, and we had to have costly testing done to ensure that her liver and heart are strong enough for her to be a candidate for surgery due to other unrelated health issues: in 2020, on Christmas Eve, Blu was diagnosed with liver disease after developing severe, life-threatening ascites. We have, thankfully, been successfully managing Blu's liver disease for over five years, and after receiving positive echocardiogram and bloodwork results, Blu has been cleared for surgery!

Blu is the sweetest, toughest little girl and we are seeking your help in raising funds to cover the cost of her surgery. While we will be paying part of the cost out of pocket, due to transitions in employment that we are experiencing within our household, shouldering the cost of this surgery will be impossible without outside help.
