Hi my name is Natalie, and I am reaching out to anyone who has a big heart. This is Blu, my nine year old blue-nose Pitt. Anyone who knows Blu, knows how loving, energetic and friendly he is. Blu loves to run, play, belly rubs, snuggles & cuddles. Unfortunately, Blu has been really down and not his normal self as he is now in need of urgent surgery.
Back in 2020, Blu developed a mass on his leg. This mass later popped, causing no change in his lifestyle. In 2022 the mass came back again and slowly but surely grew bigger. The mass began to intervene with his everyday activities such as playing and sleeping as he would lay and scrape against it. Recently, this caused the mass to open, bleed and become infected. From here, things became more volatile. Since signs of infection, he has experienced vomiting, licking at the wound, extreme dehydration, (where he now finishes his entire bowl of water in one sitting & wants more) and has stopped eating his food. I immediately took him to the vet upon noticing these symptoms and his newfound behavior.
The veterinarian informed me that the mass could be a tumor. He initiated surgery should and could be done to remove each mass. This requires cost for bloodwork, anesthesia, pre-surgical examination, fluid therapy and more. After the surgery is complete, he urged me to get the mass sent out for biopsy for an additional price. I was also informed that after minor treatment, the mass tissue will become necrotic and the sooner he gets the surgery the better.
During the visit, Blu was treated with a Cerenia injection, Cytopoint therapy, Simplicef and MiconaHex + Trio shampoo for his coat and nausea before surgery. We were notified that otherwise, Blu is a healthy boy. I've been doing my best to give him the best care I can. I’ve struggled gathering everything I could on my own to begin this process and I am now humbly asking for any financial assistance that anyone would like to offer. Please help me get my lovely dog the further care that he needs so he can get back to his joyful self.
