Help Blossom Beat Cancer: Support Her Surgery

Donation protected
Blossom is a 7-year-old female tortoiseshell cat, who was recently diagnosed with cancer in two of her mammary glands. Currently, she is being treated for anemia related to the cancer and has shown considerable improvement. Now, she is ready to have the necessary surgery to remove the two cancerous glands, which is the next step in her treatment plan.

Blossom was rescued seven years ago, during the COVID pandemic, from a hoarding situation along with 200 other cats. Due to the terrible conditions in which she was living, Blossom was very timid, shy, and withdrawn. Because of this, the caregivers at the shelter she was being cared for had actually deemed her to be unadoptable. Against that advice, Brenda, a single mom working two jobs, saw the sweet soul beneath the timid exterior and brought her home. After three years of being lovingly cared for by her new family and with a great deal of time and patience, she flourished and became the affectionate, happy cat that had just been waiting for the love of a devoted and loving forever home for the chance to "blossom" into the beautiful sweet soul that hid just below her shy, timid exterior. Although she is still shy around strangers, the change in her is nothing short of amazing.

While grooming her earlier this month, her mom noticed a few lumps on her abdomen and took her right away to the vet, which is where the heartbreaking diagnosis was made.

Now that the anemia has improved, her next step is to have the two cancerous glands removed, and the sooner that can be done, the better the odds of her becoming a breast cancer survivor and not another victim.

She still has so many years left that can be lived and enjoyed, with the only obstacle being the cost of surgery.

As a single mom working two jobs, like most families, money is tight, but anywhere something can be sacrificed in order to get Blossom the care she needs, it is.

Blossom's mom, Brenda, is always the first to offer a hand to someone in need of help, and although she is seldom willing to accept any offers of help for herself, now that it's her sweet emotional support cat's very life depending on her accepting help, it wasn't a difficult choice to accept my offer to ask other generous, kind-hearted individuals to literally help save her life. Any and all money donated will go specifically to help cover the cost of Blossom's medical treatment, and every gift, no matter how large or small, will be appreciated more than words can express. All of us in Blossom's corner pray that none of you ever have to go through having a beloved furbaby being ill, especially not with something that is serious and unfortunately very expensive to treat. But if it happens, we hope that we will be in a position to help you with deferring the costs associated with providing any life-saving care. Thank you for taking the time to read Blossom's story and for any donation that you are able to give.
