Meet Onyx ‍⬛

A neighbor called me after finding another sick kitten who desperately needed help. I couldn’t leave him out there, so I took him in. His name is Onyx, and unfortunately, he is completely blind and will need both of his eyes surgically removed (double enucleation) once he is healthy and strong enough for surgery.

Right now, Onyx is weak, so the priority is getting him stronger, gaining weight, and healthy enough to safely undergo his procedure.

What makes Onyx’s story even more emotional is that he isn’t my first blind rescue. I’m already caring for Ruby and Jade, two other kittens rescued with severe eye problems. Ruby is also completely blind and needs surgery, while Jade has been fortunate enough to retain some vision. Their names were inspired by gemstones, so when this little black boy came along, Onyx felt like the perfect name. ❤️

Between their veterinary care, medications, upcoming eye surgeries, spays/neuters, and everyday care, the expenses are adding up quickly. I’m doing everything I can to give these babies the chance they deserve, but with multiple special-needs rescues needing care at the same time, some extra help would mean so much.

Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward Onyx, Ruby, and Jade’s veterinary care and upcoming surgeries.
