Help the Harvey’s with Medical & Accessibility Costs

Update about this page and the Harvey’s needs:

With the funds we have received thus far, and with the generosity of the Covert family for sourcing a vehicle, we were able to purchase a Chrysler Pacifica AND send it off to BraunAbility to have them fully equip it to be wheelchair accessible.

Just as Kendall felt her new found freedom, another wave of trials hit. On September 6, Kendall suffered a fall and broke her femoral neck, near her hip. She underwent surgery the following morning and is now on the road to recovery.

As a result of this injury, the Harveys urgently need to renovate their bathroom to make it wheelchair accessible. Chris Brinkman has generously offered to personally build custom vanities for Kendall, and thanks to the generosity of Hart & Stone, the vanity tops are being donated. These thoughtful contributions are making a meaningful impact as the Harveys prepare their home for Kendall’s new needs.

This is just the first step in a series of home modifications that will be necessary to ensure Kendall’s long-term safety and mobility.
In light of Kendall’s surgery and the amount of recovery time needed - we are opening this go fund me back up to support the medical expenses, bathroom renovation, and added costs to get Kendall back on her feet.

ORIGINAL POST:

Many of us are fortunate to know and walk alongside the Harvey family. If you’ve spent time with them, you’ve witnessed the strength, grace, and love that define their home. As many of you know, Kendall lives with Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA), a rare and progressive genetic disorder that affects her nerves and muscles. FA leads to a gradual loss of coordination, muscle control, and can also impact speech and mobility.

Over the past year, Kendall has faced the incredibly difficult transition to using a wheelchair full-time. While this change is visible, many of the burdens it brings are not. The Harveys now face the urgent and costly need to not only remodel their home to make it fully wheelchair accessible, but also to secure a wheelchair-accessible vehicle. This vehicle would allow Kendall to continue doing the everyday tasks of motherhood—tasks that many of us take for granted.

As a family of Christ, we believe God blesses each of us in different ways—through time, talent, and treasure. Today, we’re reaching out to those who feel called to give financially. We are raising funds to surprise Kendall with a wheelchair-accessible vehicle—one that will restore her independence, enabling her to take her kids to and from school, drive to all the baseball games, attend field trips, go to the grocery store, and embrace the everyday joys of life that she’s currently unable to experience with her new wheelchair.

We want this to be a COMPLETE SURPRISE for Kendall (Kyle has given permission), so please don’t mention it to her or your children (so that it’s also a surprise to Brooks and Collins!)

We trust that God will move in the hearts of those who are able to give, and that together, we can bless the Harvey family with a gift that will transform their daily lives.

Thank you for your generosity, love, and prayers.

This is a fundraiser for Kyle and Kendall Harvey. We are a group of friends, family and neighbors that are helping to raise funds to purchase a handicap accessible vehicle for Kendall Harvey, wife of Kyle Harvey. Kyle Harvey is setup as the beneficiary of this Go Fund Me and will be transferring funds to his bank account to purchase the vehicle.
