Hey everyone! I started attending a small, newly started church called One Word Church within the past few months here in Manassas, Virginia. The small congregation has been a blessing to my life. Pastor JC treats us all like family, and has the most loving heart. Well, the past couple Sundays he has picked up a family from a shelter to bring them into our environment & show them they have support & to put their faith in our Father to look out for their needs.
I'm still fighting a personal battle within myself over religion/God. But I still continue to pray. And I believe in something greater than me out there. What I definitely DO believe in, is having a good heart & helping those in need that deserve it. And this family touched my heart this Sunday.
Our pastor brought the mother up so that we all could pray over her. She started to break down. And her son came down to put his arms around her & comfort her. I try my best to hold back my tears because I hate shedding a tear in public, I'm a MAN! Men don't cry right?! But I couldn't help it, the tears came streaming down my face. I had heard some of their story through a fellow member. Their home had burnt down in a fire. That's why they were living in the shelter. And being that I was a boy raised by my mother (most of the time it was just us two), it touched my heart when I saw that young man come down to comfort his mother. This beautiful family was deserving of a blessing.
So I've decided to get their blessing in MOTION. I'm personally donating $5,000 to them. But my REAL goal, is to get the help from all of you to double that! So that we can bring them $10,000 & share with them that this came from so many people ready to help their beautiful family! This would be a wonderful head start for them to get back on their feet!
Now I'm not asking everyone to make a GRAND donation. I'm just asking you to share in any way that you can! If you can help financially, share what you can afford!
