Help Blaze Recover After Emergency Vet Surgery
Donation protected
Late last night, my mom’s dog Blaze had a sudden and terrifying accident. He was looking out the window when he spotted an armadillo in the yard and got so excited that he jumped through the window. The glass shattered, and Blaze sustained severe injuries that sent us to the emergency vet immediately around midnight.
Blaze suffered deep lacerations on two of his paws, including an arterial bleed on one. The blood loss was significant. The vet team had to place stitches both inside and out, use a blood-clotting sponge on one foot, and powder on the other to slow the bleeding. One of the cuts hit a vein so deep it couldn’t be stitched.
The emergency vet hospital had to go on diversion status — meaning no other patients could be admitted — because of how critical Blaze’s condition was. He needed anesthesia, extended stabilization, and intensive monitoring. Even now, Blaze is still recovering from the blood loss and anesthesia, and he must remain calm to avoid rupturing the stitches, especially the one in his artery, which could be life-threatening.
In addition to the vet bills, we now also need to replace the broken window that started it all.
We are asking for help to cover Blaze’s emergency care and the unexpected damage to the home. Anything you can give — no matter how small — would go a long way in helping Blaze heal and supporting my mom during this incredibly stressful time.
Thank you so much for your support, kind words, and love for Blaze.
