I am raising funds for Blaze, the 2-year-old foster dog we pulled from the Trenton Animal Shelter after he was timestamped for euthanasia when an adopter who had shown interest backed out at the last minute. Blaze is truly a survivor. Before arriving at the shelter, he was living in an abandoned house with several other dogs when a fire broke out. He clawed his way to safety, was rescued, and underwent surgery for injuries from the fire. After making a full recovery, he still spent months waiting for a family before ending up on the euthanasia list. After everything he had already survived, we could not let his story end there, so we stepped in to foster him.

Blaze is an absolute sweetheart who loves people and makes us laugh every day with how goofy he can be. He is happiest curled up next to you soaking up attention, and he loves squeaky toys even if they do not stay squeaky for long. He is incredibly food and toy motivated, which has helped him make amazing progress in training. Since Blaze never really had the chance to learn the basics, he is like a puppy in an adult body and needs continued support, structure, and confidence building. Right now, donations will help us cover his ongoing food, training, treats, toys, beds, blankets, any medical care he may need, and the other essentials he needs while we foster him. He will also come with the heavy-duty crate he loves to curl up in.

Our goal is to help Blaze find the loving forever home he deserves. At this time, he would do best in a home without young children and preferably as the only dog, unless his adopter is experienced and committed to keeping dogs separate while he continues building social skills. If his adopter is local to the Trenton or Hamilton, NJ area, his trainer is also willing to continue working with him. If you are able to donate, it would mean so much to us and would directly support Blaze during this important time. Sharing his story is just as important, especially with people local to our area. Blaze has so much love to give, and we know the right person is out there for him.
