Help Blanco Change Ilana's Life!

My name is Ilana, and Blanco is a Service Dog who will transform how I live my life. My family and I have saved for several years for a Service Dog, but we're not quite there yet.

After several years of suffering with crippling anxiety and chronic pain, I am absolutely sick of being sick. I just want a normal life. I want to be able to leave my house without the fear of a panic attack, leaving me feeling as though I can’t function. On days when the chronic pain is at its worst, breathing in too deeply is excruciating, and moving is not an option. 

Blanco will help me with that. As a Service Dog, he's being specially trained to recognize the signs of an impending panic attack -- things I'm not even conscious of doing -- and bring it to my attention. This will help distract me so I can regain control and avert an attack that could leave me fearful, disoriented, and exhausted. He can make space around me and lead me through crowded places, which I find incredibly stressful to navigate. He'll also perform Deep Pressure Therapy to combat my chronic pain. As a companion, he will help to keep my anxiety levels low and will be a new motivation to become more socially active. I will feel safer, more sure of myself and who I am.

To get Blanco will be to get my independence, which is truly priceless.
