Help Blanco and her baby

Hi, my name is Eliana, and I am trying to help a young, pregnant woman, with her pregnancy and baby.

Nineteen year old Blancho has had much difficulty in her young life. She's 8 months pregnant - just 2 weeks ago her husband, Peter Williams, died tragically.

Peter worked as a Security Guard for Putu Mining Company - but when the company closed he had no income. They couldn't afford Blancho's prenatal care. In desperation, Peter began to work burning wood to create coal to sell - a dangerous occupation - to try to care for Blancho and their unborn child. Peter lost his footing, he fell into the Fire - his life ending in horrific pain, given in love for his wife and his baby.

Blancho's father died many years ago, she doesn't even know if her mother is living. Life in Liberia has had much migration due to internal warfare, economic collapse, and devastating disease. It may seem inconceivable that a young woman's mother may have lost contact with her own child, but just imagine living through such troubled times without the communication, peaceful societal infrastructure, or the social welfare resources we may take for granted in our nations.

Blanco, herself, migrated from Monrovia, a 6 hour drive - if you're fortunate enough to have transportation and the roads are passable. Before her marriage to Peter, Blancho was living with a woman in Monrovia, selling cold water for her, but the woman was abusive to her. When she met Peter, she moved to Zwedru and her life began anew. Now her life has taken such a tragic turn in which confusion, heartache, and concern about her baby beset her to overcome her faith and her peace.

Blancho should have had a prenatal checkup every month; it's now three months since she's been for a check-up – this late in her Pregnancy she should be seen every week. She has swelling and no opportunity for her Blood Pressure to be checked, her pregnancy assessed. Blancho needs to return to Medical Care and be assured the attention she and he
