Hello, my name is Blanca. Many of you have seen me working as a cashier or waitress in our community. For the past few years, I have been fighting with my health as a type 2 diabetic. In 2024, I underwent surgery and had my left pinky toe amputated due to infection. Then, in November 2025, doctors found a bacterial infection in my body, and I was on antibiotics for almost two months. Because of these health challenges, I haven’t been able to work in 2026.
In March, I had all my toes removed as a result of complications from diabetes. My doctor has told me that I won’t be able to work for six months to a year while my foot heals. On May 21, 2026, I visited Carteret Surgeon Group and learned that I can walk again with a special shoe.
I’m starting this GoFundMe to help cover my bills, food, rent, and the cost of the special shoe. I’m asking for support from my community to help me through this difficult time. Any help is deeply appreciated as I work toward recovery and getting back on my feet.
