Beloved in her hometown, my Abuelita Blanca was the one that everyone turned to for healing, wisdom, and care. She spent her entire life pouring her energy into others. Now, as she faces her greatest battle, we are asking for that same love to be poured back into her.
In 2024, our world was shattered when she was diagnosed with a very rare form of hip cancer. Doctors recommended a full leg amputation and gave her only six months to live. Through faith, every medical treatment we could find, and a village of family help, she beat every medical statistic, and has stayed with us for two years, while being confined to a wheelchair. We have tried absolutely everything to keep her here with us, but the cancer has recently metastasized to her lungs, and last week, she was in critical condition. Doctors removed 10 pounds of fluid from her lungs. It was a heartbreaking sight, and we truly do not know how she found the strength to keep breathing through it, but she did.
For two years, her body has endured a cycle of chemotherapy and radiation. While she is a fighter, it has been devastating to watch these treatments drain her vitality.
Our family’s goal is to get her to a specialized local holistic clinic that focuses on intensive, restorative care. The monthly tuition for this treatment is $30K a month, as specialized care not covered by insurance. This would be in addition to her chemo and radiation treatments.
Donations, shares, and prayers are all very appreciated at this time. As a woman of deep faith the power of collective prayer is always deeply appreciated.
Thank you for helping us take care of the woman who raised our family with such tender, loving care.
Thank you for reading.
