Help Blake's Mom Fight Lung and Brain Cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Blake and I'm here trying to help the strongest woman I know.
Sometimes we just need a little help.
My mother’s cancer journey started in March 2020 when she was diagnosed with stage three lung cancer. She moved back to Buffalo in 2019 and had to get a baseline of new doctors. One of her doctors suggested that she have a chest x-ray because she was a long-term smoker. That’s when they found the tumor. Several rounds of chemotherapy were done to shrink the tumor.
She had surgery to remove the tumor. They also removed the lower right lobe and several cancerous lymph nodes. After, six weeks of radiation five days a week to make sure that the tumor was gone. In July 2021, a routine PET scan showed a tumor in the right side of the neck. The cancer had metastasized to stage four lung cancer. At this point, my mom wanted a second opinion, so she went to MD Anderson in Texas for about seven months where she had surgery and had genetic testing done. She did find out she has an EGFR mutation (Google it). She was on the chemo pill Tagrisso for about a year. My mother was doing chemotherapy to keep the cancer contained, but at this point, the cancer has spread all over her body and she has been diagnosed with brain cancer. She has had radiation to the brain on two different occasions to help reduce the size of the tumors. At this point, the disease is taking over. She has a tumor on the left side of the brain causing left leg paralysis and seizures...she’s gonna have to stop working. She wants to come back to Texas, where her friends are, but needs financial help. She can no longer work and she’ll be collecting Social Security. Anyone that knows my mom knows it’s hard for her to ask for help. That’s why I have written this to ask for her. If you would like to contribute to her fund for medical expenses, traveling, moving, etc., please click the link. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
