Hi, my name is Haleigh, my daughter Blakely Anne was born November 19, 2022 and is 4 months old. At her 4 month appointment our pediatrician noticed some abnormalities in blakelys scull, she referred us to a specialist who has diagnosed Blakely with plagiocephaly, her case is classified as severe and will be needing a cranial remodeling orthosis (cranial helmet) unfortunately many insurance like ours (Tricare) only cover helmets after surgery. We are asking for a little help because the helmet will cost 1620 this will include all of her scans the helmet and all her appointments. If plagiocephaly goes untreated it could cause her issues with jaw alignment, develop mental issues, spinal issues, and possibly have to have surgery. We are doing everything we can to prevent this as much as possible. She does tummy time 2/4 times a day and we do other exercises also. Cranial helmets have been proven to correct plagiocephaly.
