I wanted to share something close to my heart about my dad, Blake Vidrine. As many of you know, he has a wonderful circle of friends, and one of them recently reached out to me with the idea of starting a GoFundMe to help him regain his independence. Dad has always been the kind of person who steps up to help others, no matter how big or small the task. I thought it would be great if we could come together to support him during this time when he really needs it!

For those who don’t know my dad, Blake, I wanted to share what he’s been going through lately. He’s been managing diabetes for quite some time and recently faced a tough challenge by having to undergo a leg amputation. On top of that, he’s been dealing with some shoulder issues and is still waiting for surgery. It’s definitely been a big adjustment for him.

Currently, Blake is using an electric wheelchair, but getting around is challenging. In the future, we hope he can get a prosthetic leg; however, he is still experiencing infections in the residual limb, which means a prosthetic is not an option right now. Our goal is to make his life a little easier so he can truly enjoy every moment again. The funds we raise will go toward important items that will help him regain his independence.

Here’s What He Needs:

1. Accessible Transportation: We’re looking to modify his vehicle so he can easily take his wheelchair with him, whether it’s for doctor’s appointments or just a fun family outing!

2. Home Modifications: We want to make his home more accessible so he can navigate his living space comfortably and easily.

3. Prosthetic Leg: Down the line, we hope to help him get a prosthetic leg, which will be a significant step toward getting him back on his feet—literally!

4. Financial Support: Since he hasn’t been able to work for the last few months, any extra support would really help ease some of his financial burdens.
