My name is Blake. I’m 27 years old and a United States Army veteran trying to rebuild my life after years of feeling stuck and lost. I joined the Army young, served my time, and got out at only 20 years old. Since then, life has honestly been harder than I expected. A lot of things that happened during my time in service — including being hazed and struggling mentally afterward — affected me more deeply than I knew at the time. I’ve spent years trying to find my way back into the world and become the person I know I can be.
Right now, one of my biggest obstacles is transportation. I love to work and I’m not afraid of hard labor, but I currently have no vehicle and can’t fully reinstate my license until I pay DMV reinstatement fees from mistakes and issues dating back years ago. My license is not suspended permanently — I just need help getting back on my feet so I can move forward. I haven’t been in trouble in years. I’m trying to do things the right way now. I work landscaping when I can, and I’m willing to do whatever honest work comes my way. I don’t want fame or handouts. I just want a real chance to rebuild my life, get reliable transportation, steady work, and finally feel like I’m moving forward instead of surviving day by day.
This fundraiser would help me reinstate my driver’s license, save toward a dependable vehicle, get to work consistently, start rebuilding stability and independence, and continue working on my mental health and future. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this means more than you know. Sometimes being heard matters just as much as the money. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
