Help Blair Douglas Battle Cancer

Our dearest friend, Blair Douglas, is very ill.

She is about to undergo open chest surgery to remove cancer around her heart in a last-ditch effort to save her own life.

Blair has, very quietly—too quietly—been battling parathyroid cancer for the last few years. She has already had a surgery removing her vocal cords and cancer from her neck. She is told she faces a lifetime of chasing this cancer with surgeries.

Parathyroid cancer is a very rare form of cancer, one for which there is little to no funding for research. This means there are not enough medical professionals, trials, and information for this type of cancer, making the fight harder, riskier, and more costly.

Blair has fought valiantly, in the way only she could. Unfortunately, the cancer has returned—more dangerous and determined to take Blair from us than ever before. There is hope, and all is not lost, but the road ahead is difficult and challenging.

Blair, her family, and friends have done everything they can over the past few years to support her through this horrific journey. But as so many of us know, the U.S. healthcare system is unforgiving, unjust, and profit-driven. This has placed Blair in an impossible situation—one that no one should have to face alone.

To save her life, Blair needs the best care possible. To save her life, she needs to pay thousands of dollars. And to save her life, she is too unwell to work and secure the health insurance she desperately needs to reduce the overwhelming costs of fighting cancer. Through no fault of her own, she is up against the wall and urgently needs our help.

As Blair's friends, we are reaching out to you for support and ask that you join us in supporting Blair during her time of need. August 27th Update

First, thank you to everyone who has donated so far towards our goal! It means so much to us and to Blair. Feeling your support and love is so powerful.

Second, wanted to give the update that Blair's surgery yesterday was a success and she now begins the long road to recovery. As any one who knows what dealing with cancer brings the path will not be straightforward but thanks to you all she now has a path and hope.
