Blair and Budd are dear friends to us, and to many others in the animation and comedy communities. We (Lauretta Wong and Joseph McGill) have known Budd since we were in grade school, and he’s as loyal as they come. They are both the type of people who would give their last dollar to help others. We urged them to receive donations on GoFundMe as soon as they evacuated, but they wanted to hold space for others who had lost their homes. Now it’s their turn.
In the early hours of January 8, they woke up to an apartment full of smoke from the fast approaching Eaton fire, and rushed out with their cats. Fortunately, they found temporary shelter among friends.
While they are eternally grateful that their family is safe, it is uncertain if and when they'll be able to move back into their apartment. Budd is also experiencing breathing issues, likely due to smoke inhalation.
It goes without saying that Blair and Budd - like too many others whose lives have been ravaged by these horrific fires - are feeling devastated, lost, and unsure of what comes next for them and their cats Miko (15) and Bowser (4).
No contribution is too small, and if you aren't in a position to donate, sharing this page with your networks would be just as helpful and impactful.
All funds raised will go directly to Budd and Blair and support them in any unmet needs not covered by other disaster relief aid. They're immensely grateful for the help they’ve already received from friends and family
Please join us in helping Blair and Budd in an overwhelming time of need. They are amazing and kind people who deserve every ounce of help. Let’s show them that they are not alone and will get through this with the kindness and strength of friends, family, and complete strangers!
Thank you so much,
Lauretta Wong (North Hollywood, CA) & Joseph McGill (North Hollywood, CA). We have been friends with Budd for over 30 years.
