Help Blaine on his road to recovery after traumatic crash
Donation protected
My son, Kyle Blaine Russ, was in an auto accident with a drunk driver on July 13th, 2024. He was found unconscious and unresponsive and taken to Blake Medical Center to be treated for severe head trauma. He received multiple severe brain injuries, including Diffuse Axonal Injury (DAI), resulting in swelling and bleeding on his brain, leaving him in a coma for the first 2 and a half weeks.
He is now conscious and breathing on his own again, but is still in and out of consciousness and struggling to keep his vitals stable, as well as other bodily functions he hasn't been able to do yet on his own. He can't move the right side of his body, nor can he talk, etc., and remains in the ICU Trauma unit at this time. He is making great progress but still has a long road ahead of him, including extensive rehabilitation to recover to his best potential once he is stable and can be released from the hospital.
I have spent most of my time at the hospital with him and have been trying to keep up with his bills and taking care of his animals along with normal life expenses of my own. On top of the added expense of driving back and forth daily to the hospital. Which we all know can get costly. Anybody that knows Blaine knows he's a true fighter and won't give up this battle, but he's got a very long road of recovery ahead of him and deserves the best chance of recovery possible and for that, he needs our love and support to get there.
He is a special young man with a heart of gold, always willing to help someone else when needed and always there if someone needs a friend. He has a huge heart and kind soul and as his mother, I will forever be grateful for any help I can get to make it easier on him while he recovers. Thank you all so much and God bless you all for your love and support.
