Blackjack, our beloved miniature donkey, has always been a gentle and cherished member of our family. Recently, our world was turned upside down when Blackjack was viciously attacked by two dogs. The attack left him with severe injuries, and we found him the next day stuck in a muddy bog, his face torn and his spirit struggling. He has been in the hospital for 6 days, since 2/24/2026, fighting for his life, and every day is uncertain. We are hoping that the owners of the dogs will step up and cover his medical costs, but we want to be prepared in case they do not.

The outpouring of support from our community has been overwhelming. Friends, neighbors, and fellow animal lovers have reached out with prayers, kind words, and encouragement. Many have asked us to start this GoFundMe, and while we never wanted to ask for help, we realize now that we can't do this alone. In addition to Blackjack's medical needs, we are reinforcing all of our fencing and installing cameras around our paddocks, barn, and home to protect our other miniature donkeys, goats, and horse from future attacks.
