Help my mom Blackie Heal Her Broken Leg
A Second Chance for a Senior Girl
Goal: $5,750
Aloha friends and kind souls,
Meet Blackie, a senior dog with a heart of gold who’s been through so much. We lost our person, Basa, last year, and before he passed, she jumped from his truck and broke her femur.
She never got the surgery she needed. The bone healed on its own but not the right way, and even though it hurts, she still uses that leg every single day, without complaint.
After Basa passed away last year, Mom and I found our new forever home. We’ve been safe, loved, and cared for, but now it’s time for her to get the healing she deserves.
• Surgery in Hawaiʻi costs over $8,000 and that’s without therapy or follow-up care, but we found an amazing vet team in Mexico offering everything she needs surgery, x-rays, laser therapy, physical therapy, and all pre/post-op care for just $2,600.
We’re raising $5,750 total to cover:
• $2,600 — Surgery + full vet care
• $300 Her roundtrip flight • $350 Hawaiʻi direct release fee
• $1,500 Pet-friendly housing while she heals
• $1,000 Travel + care expenses for her stay
(We already have all her FAVN testing and clearance and they’re ready to travel)
our human mom will be by her side every step of the way while I stay behind with uncle Juan in the Taro patch and help out at the ranch heading other dogs and horses
She’s already lost so much but through it all, she’s stayed full of love, loyalty, and quiet strength. She deserves to run without pain. She deserves soft beds, warm sun, and to walk into her golden years feeling good. If you can give, mahalo nui loa from the bottom of our paws. If you can’t, sharing her story helps more than you know.
With tail wags, hope, and so much love,
Columbo Palumbo
(for my mama, Blackie )
