Hi, everyone I didn't really want things to come down to this but inevitably it has. I am a Black, Gay university student residing in NYC for my academics that has been going through financial struggles since my father passed last year unexpectedly and COVID. I currently owe $20,000 for tuition for this semester and owe $40,000 in all. My university has not been the most helpful in trying to find my solutions nor can take the Financial hold so I can REGISTER FOR CLASSES until my balance is $0!! I have tried Sallie Mae and they will not accept my application even with my mother as a cosigner because she bought a new house this year and her credit took an impact. My father passed so there's no other income really coming in to help with my tuition besides my mother. I was not left much by my father after he died to help with tuition, but I know I have the potential to become my greater self in NYC if I am warranted the opportunity to stay here for school. Please if you can donate anything at the moment that is completely appreciated because these have been stressful times.
