Help Black Queer Purchase RV!
Hey there! : )
This gofundme was created for Maven by their best friend Reina.
Maven is a Black, Trans individual seeking funds to move out of the city of Seattle and into an RV so they can head out to places more affirming for Black and brown queer creatives/artists. They are dreaming of a more accessible environment where they can build upon chosen family and create community. After living in Seattle proper for several years, They have felt it is not the home they're in search of. Maven has no ties to their family of origin due to the lack of safety, security, transphobia, and abuse. They are healing themself from multi-generational trauma on their own and with some help from friends and their small community. This move is a VITAL part of their healing process.
The funds for this gofundme will assist them in moving expenses such as: Demo/remodel, furniture/storage, gas/mileage
Essential needs such as: groceries, toiletries (etc) and emergency funds/savings
A bit more about Maven:
Maven: A Black, disabled, Trans-nonbinary poet/creative. Pre-COVID they were a creative writing teacher and activist for homelessness/foster care reform. Along with bouncing at clubs and working overnight in shelters on the side. Maven has struggled with homelessness and housing trauma all of their life. And has balanced four jobs and sixty hour work weeks for the past three years. Due to multiple car crashes they have been suffering from nerve damage and permanent joint damage/pain. This has limited their options for work after COVID and the hours they were working before are no longer realistic. Not only will purchasing an RV give them a home they feel safe calling their own, without the fear of it being snatched out from under them each month. It will help relieve a monetary weight off of them. Giving them a home they can afford and giving them a chance at stability for the first time in their 24 years
This move would be be a huge benefit for their mental and physical health!
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this, please pass this on and help us reach our goal!
