Help Us Recover After Hurricane Helene: Support Our Cidery/Meadery

Many of you have asked about the state of our cidery/meadery, and though it feels small in the face of such widespread devastation, here is an update: our business, located near the Swannanoa river, was significantly flooded. While the building wasn't completely destroyed, we've lost equipment, supplies, and product, etc. We now face the long, uncertain road of restoration.

Without running water anywhere in Black Mountain/Asheville, our hands are tied. Running a fermentation business depends on clean, reliable water, and we've been told it could be months before it's restored. That means no taproom, no wholesale, and no online sales for the foreseeable future. On top of that, our local apple and bee suppliers have been hit hard, and we're still assessing the impact.

The timing couldn't be worse. October is usually our busiest month, when tourists flock to the area for leaf-peeping season. With tourism stalled and the local economy struggling, many in Western North Carolina's food and beverage industry are facing significant income loss, ourselves included. We don’t expect the region to recover its usual influx of visitors until spring 2025, and maybe not even by then.
