Help Black & Indigenous Person Get Top Surgery

My name is Grayson Izekiel Colbert (they/them) and I am a young Black and Indigenous trans artist. I have been out as nonbinary for 5 years, and have known that medically transitioning has been necessary for the same amount of time. Now that i’m a bit over a year on T, I feel that it is necessary to start the next step in my medical transition which is top surgery. This surgery is a medical necessity for me for several reasons including both mental and physical reasons. Top surgery is something i have needed/wanted for the past 5 years. I have an official diagnosis of gender dysphoria from a therapist as well as a letter that explains why this surgery is a medical necessity for me.

I have a consult with Dr. Alexes Hazen on January 22nd, and surgery + hospital fees can add up to over $15k. I do not have any type of support, including financial support from my family regarding my transition. I will not be able to use insurance and will have to pay for everything out of pocket. I am unemployed and my only source of income is from selling my art.

For transparency, the funds from this campaign are being collected by my close friend Oliver Dolan, and then being sent to me. The money from this fundraiser will go towards appointments, the surgery itself, and anything leftover will be used to support myself during recovery.
