HELP BLACK ABORIGINALS RETURN TO NATURE

**UPDATE** 6/24/2020
We created the Black Aboriginal Return to Nature Grant Initiative (BARN) to pay it forward! We are committing 22% of our fundraising goal of $222,222. Every $10,000 we receive will fund a $2222 grant to an individual or small, grassroots organization who needs money to invest in nature. Once we hit our goal, we will award 22 BARN grants!

WE NEED YOU!

WE NEED TO RETURN TO THE LAND!

Hi! We are Rashena and Stormy! JOIN US! LET'S CHANGE THE FUTURE!

We are Black Aboriginals who are destined to live as homesteaders in sync with Mother Nature. While living the city life offers many advantages, it has revealed to us that we are disconnected from the heartbeat of the Earth. Minneapolis, Minnesota is our home and we want to live in a way that reflects our ancestral heritage, that reflects who we are individually and collectively.  We want to get back to nature so we can start a farm and give back to the community in a big way! As Black women, we are intuitively equipped to nurture and steward the land. As Mothers, we are taking it upon ourselves to break the cycle and usher in new beginnings to create generational wealth for our Sons. We are requesting your energy to push the pendulum and pave the way for a redistribution of wealth.

HOW WILL WE USE THE MONEY?

We've been doing our research and have found that the average property listing in Minnesota is approximately $275,000. We want to purchase land that is remote enough to provide privacy but within reasonable driving distance to the city. Any remaining funds will be used to make improvements on the property and purchase equipment to maintain the land.

HOW WILL WE UTILIZE THE LAND?

The land will serve primarily as a farm where we will grow food, flowers, and herbs. For starters, we would like to live as sustainably and self-sufficient as we comfortably can. We would love to have a small number of animal companions including goats, sheep, and chickens and practice energy and water conservation methods. Once we get settled in, we'd like to offer home stay accommodations and develop a community share program which potentially would include home grown plants, wellness, and herbal medicine. These offerings will allow us to make consistent donations to grassroots community organizations.

WHEN DO WE NEED THE FUNDS?

The sooner, the better! The home buying process can be lengthy and costly and we want to raise as much money as we can as fast as we can so we can take advantage of the current housing market. For the sake of our mental health, we desire a peaceful, calm, and safe environment to maintain our equilibrium during these very pressurized times.

MONEY IS THE ONLY THING BETWEEN US AND OUR DREAMS!
PLEASE JOIN US IN CHANGING OUR FUTURE AND HELP US SHARE OUR MISSION WITH THE WORLD!
SAT NAM!
