Hi, my name is Bj. I never imagined I’d be writing something like this, but life can change in an instant. Recently, I was in a terrible jet ski accident that left me with multiple severe injuries. I broke four vertebrae, my tailbone, and my pelvis. My T12 vertebra was shattered and pressing on my spinal cord, requiring an emergency spinal fusion from my T10-L2 and to remove the piece of vertebra pressing on my spinal cord to keep me from becoming paralyzed.

The recovery process is on going and has been long and painful. Right now, I require 24/7 care at home and am slowly beginning to walk again. Every small step forward is a victory, and I’m determined to keep fighting so I can be the dad my son deserves.

As much as I wish I didn’t have to ask, but being unable to work the bills are overwhelming and continue to pile up while I focus on recovery. Between hospital stays, surgeries, physical therapy, and ongoing care, the financial burden is more than I can handle on my own.

I’m asking for help to offset these costs so I can put my energy toward healing—relearning to walk, regaining my independence, and most importantly, being there for my son.
