Bishop Manuel and Jacqueline “Betty” Watson lost everything they owned when their home in the Bromley community burned down on Feb. 20, 2025. Seven family members shared the small house on Highway 225. Lifelong residents of Baldwin County, the couple are in their 80’s.
We are trying to raise enough money to have the house bulldozed, rubble cleared, and a mobile home purchased and set up so seven people are no longer homeless.
The founder of New Home Church in Mobile, Bishop Watson also helped start an ecumenical, interracial group called All Churches Together II over 30 years ago. ACT II works under the umbrella of Ecumenical Ministries in Fairhope, Al.
Bishop Watson has volunteered his time and energy for his community for nearly 4 decades. It is time for the community to give back to someone who has given so much, and lost everything.
