Since October 12, 2007, Birrieria Zaragoza has been more than just a restaurant. It’s a family-run space that has become part of the fabric of Chicago, a place where people come not just to eat, but to feel at home.

For nearly 18 years, my family has poured everything into this restaurant. They’ve rarely taken a paycheck, instead choosing to invest back into the team, the food, and the community. Birrieria Zaragoza has proudly supported charitable events, disaster relief efforts, and immigration reform because giving back is part of who we are.

But right now, we need help.

Due to recent events, we’ve had to close our doors indefinitely. We aren’t able to generate revenue, and without it, we can’t support the people who make this place possible. Our staff’s livelihoods are on the line. Bills are still coming. Paychecks still need to go out. This restaurant isn’t just about our family, it’s about the people who show up every day to serve our community.

We’ve been working hard toward opening a new chapter for Birrieria Zaragoza, but this unexpected setback puts that future in jeopardy.
