Hi, my name is Kelly, and I’m raising funds for my dog, Birdie.
Birdie is a five year old, 13-pound Boston Terrier who has been by my side since she was a puppy. She’s completely obsessed with her ball. It’s her favorite thing in the world but right now she can’t even play with it because of how painful her dental condition has become. It’s really hard seeing her not be able to enjoy the thing she loves most.
We were recently referred to a veterinary dental specialist, and the diagnosis was more serious than I expected. Birdie has advanced periodontal disease with significant buildup, infection, and bone loss. Because of this, there is even a risk of her jaw fracturing during the extractions she needs.
Her treatment is not just a routine cleaning, it’s a full dental procedure under anesthesia that includes:
• Advanced imaging (full-mouth radiographs and cone beam CT scan)
• Deep cleaning both above and below the gumline
• Periodontal therapy to treat infection
• Multiple surgical tooth extractions
This is necessary to relieve her pain and prevent more serious complications.
The estimate for her treatment is between $4,600 and $6,800.
Those of you that know me know I’ve always taken her care seriously, including brushing her teeth regularly since she was a pup, but apparently small dogs like Birdie are especially prone to dental disease despite good care.
I’m doing everything I can to cover this, but it’s more than I can manage. If you’re able to contribute (even $1), share, or even just send support, it would truly mean so much to us.
Birdie is still such a happy, loving little dog. I just want to get her back to feeling like herself again (and back to her ball).
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for any help you can give.
— Kelly
